Customizing the Function Settings

Once the initial settings have been completed, the player can always be operated under the same conditions whenever the power is switched on. These settings are called SETUP data that are easily modified and stored using the SETUP menu. The SETUP menu includes the information for AUDIO and other system controls.

SETUP MENU		ITEM and DESCRIPTIONS
		Set up TV aspect according to your TV set. If WIDE screen is supported on
		your TV, select WIDE.
		If your TV supports only 4:3, you may select both NORMAL/ PS (Pan & Scan)
		and NORMAL/LB (Letter Box).
TV DISPLAY	NORMAL/PS	When using a wide screen TV (16:9 aspect ratio)
		Select WIDE in the TV ASPECT value.
	NORMAL/LB
		Discs may be recorded in more than one screen format. Following the chart
	WIDE	below, make screen aspect adjustments in your wide screen TV according to
		the aspect ratio on the disc you are viewing.
		When using a standard TV (4:3 aspect ratio)
		Select NORMAL/LB (Letter Box) or NORMAL/PS (Pan & Scan) in the TV
		ASPECT value.
		Following the chart below, make screen aspect adjustments according to the
		aspect ratio on the disc you are viewing.
TV TYPE	MULTI	Set up TV type according to type supported by your TV or monitor. When you
	NTSC	select MULTI, the output video type is dependent on the disc loaded. If the
	PAL	recorded video type is PAL then it outputs PAL. If NTSC then NTSC.
	ENGLISH	This item is to select the language for On-Screen Display messages that will be
OSD LANG	GERMAN	displayed on the TV screen. When your desired language is selected, all OSD
	FRENCH	messages are displayed in the selected language.
	DUTCH	Note :
	ITALIAN	Selecting languages in the SE UP can be changed
	SPANISH	/ added/ deleted in accordance with region.
		Dynamic Range Control. (Valid for Dolby Digital DVD disc)
	FULL	When programs with wide dynamic range,such as movie soundtracks, are
		played at low volume or from smaller speakers, the system can apply

		appropriate compression to preserve low-level content and prevent dramatic

		The degree of compression can be made to vary according to need.

		If your want to hear the original dynamic range recorded on disc set the

		DYNAMIC to of OFF.

		Otherwise set to FULL then the dynamic range is reduced by bringing down the

		level of the loud sounds and bringing up the level of the quiet sounds.

	DIGITAL OUT			Note : When “ON” is selected, DELAY TIME of each speaker can

	TEST TONE	ON		Turn on the TEST TONE for the speaker’s relative volume balance

	R, G, B	Note : The machine has component jack instead of scart jack in accordance with
		region. Though you select RGB, the machine having component jack is
		not useful for RGB video signal format.
