LAN Manager/DLC Configuration

8 - LAN Manager/DLC Configuration

The EZWebCon conÞguration software is the easiest way to conÞgure the MPS. This chapter explains DLC conÞguration for Windows NT 4.x hosts. Windows 95 does not support DLC printing (see Chapter 4, TCP/IP ConÞguration, for more information).

NOTE: The Server needs an IP address before you can use EZWebCon. See the Setting the IP Address section on page 4-2 for instructions.

NOTE: Printing using an LPD client is the preferred method for sending print jobs to the MPS. To print using the TCP/IP protocol see the Using the Command Line Interface section on page 4-8.

8.1 DLC Configuration

8.1.1 Server Configuration

To use the DLC protocol, you must have one service with the DLC characteristic enabled. Use the DeÞne Service servicename DLC Enabled command. The DLC characteristic may be associated with only one service on a given MPS.
