802.1Q VLAN

Tagged-based VLAN is an IEEE 802.1Q specification standard which it allows to create a VLAN across devices from different switch venders. IEEE 802.1Q VLAN uses a technique to insert a “tag” into the Ethernet frames. Tag contains a VLAN Identifier (VID) that indicates the VLAN numbers.

All ports on the switch belong to default VLAN, VID is 1. The default VLAN can’t be deleting. The maximum VLAN group is up to 64 VLAN groups.

button to enable the function. For example: the

management VLAN ID is 101, the VLAN group ID 101 includes the port 1, 2, and 4. Therefore, only port 1, 2, and 4 can remote management the switch. And, if the port is in two different VLAN groups and one of VLAN group ID is equal to the assigned Management VLAN ID, it still has the right to remote management the switch.

Group Name: Assign a name for the new VLAN

VLAN ID: Key in a VLAN ID (2~4094). The default is 1
