Chapter 2. Preparing for Installation

This chapter helps you prepare to install the Dual Channel SCSI RAID Enablement Card. To install the Dual Channel SCSI RAID Enablement Card, you may need the following items:

vYour system unit installation guide

vDocumentation provided with your SCSI devices

vIBM Eserver pSeries & RS/6000 Standalone Diagnostics CD-ROM (Version 5.2.0.11 or higher)

Note: This card is supported on multiple systems and may require a system firmware update. Contact your service representative for further details.

Using AIX

In addition to the preceding items listed, you will need the following AIX-specific items:

vAIX 5.1 Update CD-ROM (Recommended Maintenance Package 5100-04 or higher)

vAIX 5.2 Update CD-ROM (Recommended Maintenance Package 5200-01 or higher)

vPCI-X SCSI RAID Controller Reference Guide for AIX, order number SA23-1323

Using Linux

In addition to the preceding items listed, you will need the following Linux-specific items:
