LEFT-SIDE PANEL COMPONENTS

Following is a brief description of your LifeBook note- book’s left-side components. (Figure 2-6)

External Monitor Port

The external monitor port allows you to connect an external VGA or SVGA CRT monitor. Note that when the optional Port Replicator is attached to the system, you must use the external monitor port on the Port Replicator rather than the port on the system. See “External Monitor Port” on page 49.

Headphone Jack

The headphone jack allows you to connect headphones or powered external speakers. See “Headphone Jack” on page 49.

Microphone Jack

The microphone jack allows you to connect an external mono microphone. See “Microphone Jack” on page 49.

Air Vents

The air vents allow for proper cooling of the system while it is operating.

PC Card Slot

The PC Card Slot allows you to install a Type I or Type II

PC Card. See “PC Cards” on page 41.

PC Card Eject Button

The PC Card eject button allows you to remove PC Cards from the PC Card slot. See “PC Cards” on page 41.

Compact Flash Card Slot

Allows you to insert a compact flash (CF) card. See “Compact Flash Cards” on page 42.

Compact Flash Card Eject Button

Allows you to eject a compact flash card. See “Compact
