Solving computer problems

Computer screen problems

Problem: The screen is blank.

Solution: Press Fn+Home key to make the screen brighter. If the problem persists, do the “Solution” in the problem below.

Problem: The screen is unreadable or distorted.

Solution: Make sure that:

vThe display device driver is installed correctly.

vThe display resolution and color depth are correctly set.

vThe monitor type is correct.

To check these settings, do as follows:

For Windows 98 or Windows 2000:

1.Click Start Settings control Panel.

2.Double-click the Display icon.

3.Click the Settings tab.

4.Check whether the color depth and resolution are correctly set.

5.Click Advanced...

6.Click the Adapter tab.

7.Make sure “RAGE MOBILITY-M PCI” is shown in the adapter information window.

8.Click the Monitor tab. (For Windows 2000, it is shown as “ATI RAGE MOBILITY-M PCI”.)

9.Make sure the information is correct.

For Windows NT:

1.Click Start Settings control Panel.

2.Double-click the Display icon.

3.Click the Settings tab.

4.Check if the color depth and resolution are correctly set.

5.Click Display Type...

6.Make sure “RAGE MOBILITY-M PCI” is shown in the Display Type window.

7.Click OK.

8.Click the Test button in the Settings window.

9.Make sure the output is displayed correctly.
