FREECOM FHD-1

CHAPTER 2: Hardware Installation

SinceUSB2.0isbackwardscompatiblewithUSB1.1,theFHD-1canbeconnected to all USB ports. When connected to a USB 1.1 port, however, the performance (data transfer rate) of the FHD-1 will be much lower than when the drive is connected to a USB 2.0 port.

For optimal performance, the FHD-1 should always be connected to a USB 2.0 port. Freecom USB 2.0 PCI Host Controllers are available at www.freecom.com.

1.Connect the large, 36pin connector of the Freecom Cable II USB 2.0 to the FHD-1.

2.Connect the cable of the power supply to the FHD-1 and the power supply itself to the socket.

3.Connect the USB connector to a USB port of your computer.
