Version 1.2

Use the instructions in this chapter when you need to migrate data from a version 1.2 server to a different computer running version 10.4.

This chapter tells you what you can migrate, and then explains how.

Before You Begin

Before using the instructions in this chapter, perform initial setup of the version 10.4 server to which you’ll migrate data. See the getting started guide for instructions.

Understanding What You Can Migrate

The information in “Step-by-Step Instructions” on page 77 describes how to reuse the following data with version 10.4:

ÂFTP configuration files

ÂWebObjects applications and frameworks

ÂUser data, including home directories

ÂQuickTime Streaming Server files and directories

ÂUser and group accounts

If you’re using any of the following, make a note of any settings you want to continue to use, then see the document indicated for instructions on re-creating the settings after using the instructions in this chapter.
