Custom Network Interface Settings

Viewing Network Settings

Use Settings... on the Network menu to view or customize your communications environment. Choosing Settings... accesses the Custom window, shown in Figure 5-1.

Physical Address

The physical address of the workstation.

 

 

IP Address

Internet Protocol address (home address) for the

 

workstation.

 

 

Subnet Mask

Subnet mask bits. Used to partition IP addresses

 

into network and host portions.

 

 

Host Name

Not required.

 

 

Domain Name

Not required.

 

 

Name

Name of the interface.

 

 

Type

Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, SLIP, or PPP
