3.5.1.2 IDE Adapter Setup

The IDE adapters control the hard disk drive. Use a separate sub menu to configure each hard disk drive. The below table will shows the IDE primary master sub menu.

	Item		Options		Description
				Press Enter to auto-detect the HDD on
	IDE HDD Auto-detection		Press Enter	this channel. If detection is successful,
				it fills the remaining fields on this
				menu.
				Selecting ‘manual’ lets you set the
	IDE Primary Master		None	remaining	fields	on this	screen.
	IDE Primary Slave,			Selects the type of fixed disk.			"User
			Auto
	IDE Secondary Master,			Type" will let you select the number of
			Manual
	IDE Secondary Slave			cylinders,	heads,	etc.	Note:
				PRECOMP=65535 means NONE !
	Access Mode		CHS, LBA	Choose the access mode for this hard
			Large, Auto	disk
The following options are selectable		only if the ‘IDE Channel …’		item is set to ‘Manual’
	Cylinder		Min = 0	Set the number of		cylinders	for this
			Max = 65535	hard disk.
	Head		Min = 0	Set the number of read/write heads
			Max = 255
	Precomp		Min = 0	**** Warning: Setting a value of 65535
			Max = 65535	means no hard disk
	Landing zone		Min = 0	****
			Max = 65535
	Sector		Min = 0	Number of sectors per track
			Max = 255
