Hardware Description

The SMC TigerCard™ 10G 10GBASE-XFP Ethernet Server Adapter comes equipped with:

•One XFP slot for 10 Gbps XFP transceivers (SR or LR)

•Three LED indicators

The components of the SMC TigerCard™ 10G 10GBASE-XFP Ethernet Server Adapter are shown in the figure below.

Note: Shown with an XFP transceiver (not included).

LED Indicators

The following table describes the TigerCard™ 10G states reported by the LEDs.

LED	Condition	Status
Red	Off	No fault.
(Error Checking)
	On	Fault.
Green	Off	There is no valid link on the port.
(Link)
	On	The card has established a valid network
		connection.
	Flashing	SMC10GPCIe-10BT: Obtaining a link.
		SMC10GPCIe-XFP: Receiving.
Amber	Off	There is no valid link on the port.
(Activity)
	On	The network connection is operating at 10 Gbps.
	Flashing	SMC10GPCIe-10BT: Receiving or transmitting.
		SMC10GPCIe-XFP: Transmitting.
