SMART CAT5 SWITCH 16 IP.
The Update software enables you to add new features and fix bugs in a quick and efficient manner. Install the Update software on any computer, even one not part of the Smart 16 IP system.
The software and latest firmware is on the Marketing & Documentation CD. To obtain the latest firmware for your system go to www.minicom.com .
System requirements for the Update software
•Pentium 166 or higher with 16 MB RAM and 10 MB free Hard Drive space.
•Free Serial port.
•Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP or Windows NT 4.0 SP (service pack) 3 or later, Windows 2003 Server.
Connecting the Smart 16 IP System
To update the firmware the Smart 16 IP system must be connected and switched on.
Connecting the RS232 Serial cable
To run the software, connect the RS232 Serial cable to the computer containing the software, and to the Smart 16 IP Switch. See the Installation Guide.
Installing the software
To install the Update software:
1.Insert the Marketing & Documentation CD. The CD menu runs automatically.
2.Choose Smart CAT5 Switch Softpack.
3.Either run the Update software straight from the CD or install it on the computer’s hard drive and run it from there.
Starting and configuring the Update software
1.Start the Update software. The Smart CAT5 Switch Update window appears. See Figure 54.
