VLAN
This window allows users to dene VLAN membership by groups of device ports. Any individual port or trunk can be a member of a VLAN group. A VLAN group is basically a broadcast domain, but any port/trunk is not limited to belonging to only one VLAN group. The forwarding rule is that packets from the source port/trunk will only be forwarded to a destination port/trunk within the same VLAN group. That is, a broadcast/multicast packet will be forwarded to all ports/trunks within the same VLAN group(s) of the source port/trunk except the source port/trunk itself. Unicast packets will be forwarded to the destination port/trunk only if the destination port/trunk is in the same VLAN group as the source port/trunk.
Flood Control
Within a VLAN, the ood control function is provided to decide what to do with incoming unicast packets with unknown destination MAC addresses.
