Configure Switch Button:

This button will save all changes to the connected switch.

NOTE: Once changes are saved to the switch they cannot be reset automatically. Be sure to review all changes before saving using the View Module Configuration button.

Run Self Test:

The 232BSS4 is programmed with a Self Test mode. The microprocessor checks the UARTs, RAM, and EEPROM and reports any errors back to the setup software. If the software reports an error, contact B&B Technical Support.

Back to Back Main Screen:

The Back-to-Back main screen is the same as the Single Unit with a few exceptions. Both modules' parameters are available for viewing at the same time. Also, some parameters are pre-defined and not available to the user.

File Menu:

From the file menu, the configuration of both switches can be saved to disk, loaded from a disk, or printed. This provides an easy method of configuring multiple switches with the same setup.

Operation Setup:

Back-to-Back units are predefined for Auto Switch mode and a three- character command. The command characters can be set to other than default if the main communications channel cannot accept certain characters. The characters set on Unit #1 are automatically copied to Unit #2. The Port Timeout and Inactivity timer must be set.

Master Port Configuration:

The Master port is automatically configured to use Hardware Handshaking. Setting the Baud Rate, Data Bits, and Parity on Unit #1 automatically sets these parameters on Unit #2.

Ports A-D Configuration:

All Slave ports on both units can be independently configured for Baud Rate, Data Bits, and Parity. Hardware Handshaking can be enabled or disabled on any of the ports. All automatic connections are established on Unit #1 and any necessary parameters are copied to Unit #2. Any combination of connections is possible.

Load Configuration:

The parameters for Unit #1 are automatically loaded when the Back-to- Back main screen is entered. Unit #2 is loaded the first time the Unit
