BitStorm 4800 Express Startup Procedure

You can initialize your BitStorm 4800 Express via a PC or terminal connected to the unit’s CONSOLE port. Then, using a series of CLI commands, GrandVIEW EMS or another Element Management System, or the web interface, you can configure the unit according to your requirements.

Login

To log in to the BitStorm 4800 Express:

1Connect a PC or terminal to the CONSOLE port. (See Console Port in Chapter 2-,Cabling.)

2At the login> prompt, type admin and press Enter.

3At the password> prompt, press Enter. The default login password is blank.

4At the PDYN> prompt, type privilege and press Enter.

5At the password# prompt, press Enter. The default privileged password is blank.

You are now logged on and in privileged mode, which allows you to configure the unit.

Management Modes

The startup procedure for the BitStorm 4800 Express system differs depending on the type of management used:

Inband Management – Operates over the uplink.

Out-of-Band Management – Operates over Port 1.
