Configuration

This menu is not a management option; it is a title for the configuration sub-menus listed below it. This menu CANNOT be selected.

Identify

This menu provides read-only and configurable identification informa- tion for the device.

Table 4-2 describes each field in the Identify menu.

Physical Address

Read-only field; displays the device’s hardware

 

address.

 

 

Object ID

Read-only field; displays the device’s SNMP identify-

 

ing number.

 

 

Description

Read-only field; displays a description of the device.

 

 

Name

Configurable field; assigns a name to the device.

 

Note: A maximum of 254 characters (including

 

spaces) is allowed.

 

 

Location

Configurable field; assigns a location to the device

 

(where the device is physically located).

 

Note: A maximum of 254 characters (including

 

spaces) is allowed.

 

 

Contact

Configurable field; assigns a name of the person

 

responsible for the device.

 

Note: A maximum of 254 characters (including

 

spaces) is allowed.

 

 

Up Time

Read-only field; displays the amount of time the

 

device has been operational since the last time it was

 

off-line.

 

 

Interfaces

Read-only field; displays the number of network inter-

 

faces present on this device.
