Flash Upgrade

5)From your terminal software package, send the “flash upgrade file” to the modem. You know the download is working because the LCD displays:

FLASH UPGRADE

IN PROGRESS

Note

Be sure you use the “X modem CRC” protocol.

The modem automatically resets after the upgrade is complete. The process can take several minutes.

One of two messages returns.

DOWNLOAD OK

indicates a successful upgrade.

DOWNLOAD ERROR

indicates a problem with the download.

Enter ATI3 if you want to verify the latest software update.

Troubleshooting

1)You did not choose the correct download protocol. Response: Repeat the process.

2)The upgrade flash file is corrupted.

Response: Get a clean file and redo the steps.

3) If all else fails:

Response: See the “Calling Technical Support” section on page 12-2
