How Do I Maintain the Battery?

Location of Battery

As shown in the following illustrations, the battery compartment is located on the right side panel for both DPQ3212 housing types.

Before Removing and Replacing the Battery

Before removing and replacing the battery, refer to the following important information.

You can remove and replace the battery without disconnecting the AC power source.

It may take as long as 24 hours for each battery to charge fully.

Dispose of the battery in accordance with local regulations and instructions from your service provider.

Removing and Replacing the Battery, Housing Type 1

1Open the battery door by operating the battery door lock on the side of the unit.

2Grasp the plastic pull-tab on the battery and gently slide the battery forward to remove it from the battery compartment.

3Insert a new battery into the battery compartment.

4Close the battery compartment door.

Removing and Replacing the Battery, Housing Type 2

1Open the battery door by pressing on the battery door where indicated on the side of the unit.

2Slide the gray battery lock release inside the battery compartment upward to disengage the battery lock.

3Grasp the plastic pull-tab on the battery and gently slide the battery forward to remove it from the battery compartment.

4Insert a new battery into the battery compartment.

5Close the battery compartment door. The battery lock will automatically engage.
