Installing a Hard Disk or Other Internal Storage Device
Your Macintosh can accommodate a variety of internal storage devices.
Important Before installing an internal storage device, read “About Internal Storage Options” on page 33 and follow the steps in “Opening the Server” on page 37.
Note: When mixing drive types, you may want to install a PCI card along with your disk drive to keep your computer operating optimally. If so, after you install the drive, see the section, “Installing a PCI Expansion Card” on page 52 for additional instructions. For optimal performance, use only Wide Ultra2 SCSI devices. (For more information, see “Other Types of SCSI Drives” on page 35.)
