Disk status icons

Disks which are marked with an are system disks. This means they are used to store the system partition, which contains the configuration files of the SNAZ OS. They can still be used as part of any RAID(s)

Disks which are marked with an have been detected by the system as being in a prefail state. This means that certain types of errors have been found on them and they are likely to become faulty as a result. The system uses Self-Monitoring Analysis And Reporting Technology (SMART) parameters to track these errors

Disks which are marked with have been assigned as hot spare disks. These are used should one of the other disks fail

Disks which are marked with are not currently members of a RAID

Disks which are marked with have been rejected by the RAID they were a member of

Disks which are marked with are currently being resynchronised. The system, at all times, has to ensure that all mirrored RAID disks contain exactly the same data. If a

difference is found, resynchronisation is performed to bring all the RAID disks back to identical mirrors of one another.
