Ethernet Traffic Statistics

Transmitted Bytes

Total No of packets transmitted from the particular

interface

Transmitted Unicast packets

Total number of packets transmitted to a specified

destination

Transmitted Discards

No of packets dropped because of congestion or an error

along the path

In most cases, packet loss is due to network congestion.

Packets are discarded to avoid the very large delays that

can arise when too much traffic is queued up.
