Using the Console Port

Alteon Web switches have a console port for configuring the switch. This chapter explains how to connect a terminal to the console port.

For instructions on using the console to view and configure switch settings, see the Web OS switch software manuals.

Connecting a Serial Cable

To establish a console (DCE) connection, the following are required:

νAn ASCII terminal or a computer running ASCII terminal emulation software set to the parameters shown in the table below:
