3.3 Precautions
When working on this type of equipment, the following precautions must be noted:
zThis unit must be installed, serviced, and operated only by skilled and qualified personnel who have the necessary knowledge and practical experience with electrical equipment and who understand the hazards that can arise when working on this equipment.
zThe
zHigh leakage currents may be possible on this type of equipment. Make sure the equipment is properly earth grounded before connecting power.
zHazardous energy and voltages are present in the device and on the interface cables that can shock or cause serious injury. Follow all safety warnings and practices when servicing this equipment.
zExercise care when servicing this area.
In addition to proper job training and safety procedures, the following are some basic precautions that should always be used:
zUse only properly insulated tools.
zRemove all metallic objects (key chains, glasses, rings, watches, or jewelry, and so on).
zWear safety glasses.
zTest circuits before touching.
