Beacons are packets sent by an Access Point to synchronize a wireless network. Specify a value. 100 is the default setting and is recommended.

This value should remain at its default setting of 250. If you en- counter inconsistent data flow, only minor modifications should be made within the value range of 0-3000.

The fragmentation threshold, which is specified in bytes, deter- mines whether packets will be fragmented. Packets exceeding the 1600 byte setting will be fragmented before transmission. 1600 is the default setting.

Enable the SSID Broadcast feature to announce the SSID across the network. Enabling this will allow you to use XP’s site survey tools. Disabling SSID Broadcast can be a useful security mea- sure.

Click Apply if you have made any changes.
