2.6Setting Up Your Encryption Device

The following sections provide step-by-step procedures for setting your secure telephone / encryption device for Asynchronous 9600bps secure data mode.

2.6.1L-3 Secure Terminal Equipment (STE)

Objective: To set the secure data mode to Asyncronous 9.6Kbps.

For STE's with software V2.3 or earlier:

Note that to permanently set the Secure Data mode, the handset must be on-hook. If you do these procedures with the handset off-hook, the changes hold for the current call only. When you hang up, the Secure Data settings will revert to the previous settings.
