Removing a DIMM

To expand the printer memory to 512 MB, you need to remove the preinstalled 64 MB DIMM and install two 256 MB DIMMs into the DIMM slots.

Push the latches at both ends of the DIMM slot away to remove the DIMM and pull out the DIMM.

Installing a wireless network interface card

The machine is equipped with a network interface which allows you to use your printer on a network. You can also purchase a wireless network interface card to enable the use of the printer in wireless network environments. For information about installing the network printer server, see the network printer server user’s guide.

The order information is provided for optional wireless network interface card. (Page 7.1)

1Turn the printer power off and unplug the power cord and printer cable from the printer.

2Remove the duplex-slot cover or the duplex unit from the back of the printer.

3Grasp the control board cover and remove it.

4Align the wireless network interface card into the guide, and align the connector on the card with the connector on the control board. Push the card firmly into the connector until it is completely and securely in place.
