The unit starts playback from the beginning.

About screen saver function

A television monitor screen may be burned out if a static picture is displayed for a long time. To prevent this, the unit automatically activates the screen saver function if a static picture, such as an on-screen display or menu, is displayed for over 5 minutes.

Pressing any buttons on the unit or the remote control unit will release the screen saver function and return to the previous display.

You can also turn off the screen saver function (see page 50).

When you make an operation, you may see the following icons displayed over the picture for about 3 seconds. These have the following meanings.

Basic operations

NOTES

When the RESUME function is "ON" or "DISC RESUME" and the resume point is memorized, pressing 3 starts playback from that point instead of the beginning. See page 17.

During playback, the display window shows the title/chapter or track number being played.

During DVD VIDEO playback, pressing 3 moves back the playback position 10 seconds before the current position. See page 21 for details.

To stop playback completely

Available :

Press 7.

The unit stops playback.

• If you press 0 OPEN/CLOSE during playback, the unit stops playback and opens the disc tray.

To stop playback temporarily

Available :

Press 8.

The unit pauses playback. To resume playback, press 3
