PICTURE SEARCH OPTIONS
The most basic way to search during playback is using the FWD and REV buttons. This section contains several other options available for searching a tape.
FORWARD AND REVERSE SEARCH
You can search a tape during playback. Sound is turned off during picture search. Search works best for tapes recorded at the SP or SLP speed.
1.Press FWD to search forward or REV to search in reverse.
2.Press FWD or REV a gain or press PLA Y to return to normal playback.
VARIABLE SPEED PICTURE SEARCH AND FRAME

You can also use the JOG SHUTTLE and ar row (
) buttons on the remote to search a picture during playback.Turning on JOG SHUTTLE (the light in the middle of the arrow buttons turns on) enables you to search forward and backward through a tape while in the PLAY or STILL mode .
Sound is turned off during picture search and frame advance. Tapes recorded in SP or SLP speed giv e the best picture.
Variable Speed Picture Search
When the VCR is playing a tape, press JOG SHUTTLE to have the VCR enter the still (pause) mode. STILL appears in the display panel.
