Preparing for recording

1Switch on the television and select the preset channel for the HDD DVD recorder.

2Switch the HDD DVD recorder to and from standby with »￿« on the remote contro.

Note:

Please select the recording quality before starting the recording. See the section on custom settings and selecting the recording quality on page 96.

Recording from a satellite receiver:

If the television programme is being recorded from a satellite receiver, switch on the satellite receiver and select the satellite channel you want.

Select the channel position for the satellite receiver with »SOURCE« or »0« (AV).

1When you switch on the HDD DVD recorder, the current pro- gramme that you can see on the television screen is recorded in the time shift memory.

2Press »SOURCE« to select the input source (for example, TV).

Display: for example, »P1 ARD«, the current TV station is shown.

3Press »A« or »S« or use the numerical buttons »1…0« to select the TV channel or open the programme list with »OK«, press »A« or »S« to select the TV channel and switch off the programme list with »x«.

4Press »« to start recording.

The amount of recording time available is shown.

Notes:

During the recording, you can press »« to enter the switch-off time (30 to 690 minutes in 30-minute increments). The HDD DVD recorder automatically switches off the recording after this time.

Press »CL« to stop the recording, the data will not be saved.

5Press »!« to pause.

6Press »8« to resume recording.

Note that this is no longer a “LIVE” recording.

7Press »7« to end the recording.

A message appears. Press »OK« to acknowledge.

You can see the data for the recording in the HDD archive.

Note:

If this message is not acknowledged, the HDD DVD recorder continues the recording.
