Playing discs (continued)

Skipping

[RAM] [DVD-R] [DVD-V] [CD] [VCD] [MP3]

You can skip to the beginning of tracks (page 62) and chapters (page 62) and restart play from there.

On DVD-RAM and DVD-R, you can skip to the start of a programme and start play from there.

The section between the point where recording is started and the point where it is stopped is called a “programme”.

During play or while paused

Press [:, SKIP] or [9, SKIP] (6).

[:]: backward

[9]: forward

Each press increases the number of skips.

For your reference

After skipping, the unit returns to the previous state, play or

pause.

Press [1] (21) to restart play if it was paused.

Pressing [:] or [9] (6) while a DVD menu is being shown or while the playback control feature on Video CDs (page 62) is working may take you to a menu screen.

You can also mark positions to skip to (page 17).

Press the numeric buttons (4) to select the item.

Manual Skip

You can skip commercials easily with this feature.

Preparation

Switch [DVD, TV] (15) to “DVD”.

During play

Press [MANUAL SKIP] (24).

Play restarts from approximately 30 seconds later.

Selecting an amount of time to skip — Time Slip

[RAM] [DVD-R]

You can set an amount of time and then skip with one press of a button.

Preparation

Switch [DVD, TV] (15) to “DVD”.

Press [TIME SLIP] (25).

Press [3, 4] (10) to enter the time and press [ENTER] (10).

Play skips the time you entered.

Press [3] (10) to increase or [4] (10) to decrease in one- minute units. Press and hold [3] (10) to increase or [4] (10) to decrease in 10-minute units.

Note

You cannot use this feature while a “DIRECT NAVIGATOR” (page 33) or “PLAY LIST” (page 37) screen is being displayed.
