STEP 4

Next GUIDE Plus+ GOLD will ask if your television is connected to a VCR.

1.Use the up and down arrow keys on your remote to select Yes or No.

2.Press the ENTER button to record your selection.

(If you selected NO, you will automatically move to Step 5. If you selected YES, you will move to Step 4A.)

GUIDE Plus+ GOLD features the VCR Plus+ system which makes videotaping a program as easy as entering a single PlusCode number. You can also control your VCR with your RM-C344 remote control. To take advantage of these fea- tures, you must enter your VCR brand into the system.

1.GUIDE Plus+ GOLD will ask you to tune your VCR to channel 02, then turn the VCR off.

2.Next select your VCR brand name from the list using the up and down arrow keys. Once you select your VCR brand, press the ENTER button.

(After you press Enter you will automatically move to step 4B.

STEP 4B

GUIDE Plus+ GOLD will send a test signal to your VCR. The test signal will change your VCR's tuner to channel 09

1.GUIDE Plus+ GOLD will ask if the VCR switched to channel 09. If the VCR has changed to 09 use the up and down arrow keys to select Yes and press ENTER. If the VCR HAS NOT changed to channel 09, use the arrow keys to select No and press ENTER.

(If you selected YES, you will automatically move to Step 5. If you selected NO, GUIDE Plus+ GOLD will repeat the test using a different code. The test will repeat until all codes for that model have been tried.)

2.If all the codes fail, you will get a message saying that the VCR test failed. You will be asked if you would like to repeat the VCR test using a "generic" set of codes. If you choose Yes, please go back to Step 4A and repeat. If you choose No, you will continue to Step 5.

Note: Skipping VCR Setup means GUIDE Plus+ GOLD will not be able to automatically control your VCR.
