Timer recording
This DVD recorder can be programmed so that it can make up to seven recordings in a month. For recording with nobody in attendance, the timer has to know which signal sources (TV stations or from AV devices) should be recorded, and it needs the start time and the inputs which defi ne the record- ing length.

• PR: Select a stored programme number or | |
| one of the external inputs for the recording. |
• | Date: Select a date that lies, at most, one |
| month from the current date. |
• | Start Time: Sets the recording‘s start time |
| (see Notes). |
• | Length: Sets the duration of the recording. |
• | Mode: Select a recording quality |
| (HQ, SQ, LQ, EQ, or AT). |
Notes:
•You should be aware that not all stations work with VPS.
•Stations that use VPS/PDC usually have VPS/PDC information on their teletext pages. Look for information on those pages when you are going to make a timer recording.
•It takes around 30 seconds for the recorder to tune in and for recording to begin. If you are using VPS/PDC, the fi rst few seconds of the programme may not be recorded.
•The actual time of day and the actual date will have to be keyed into the DVD recorder (see page 20).
•The energy saving function of Centros must be switched off (see page 21).
2.Input the information needed for your timer recording(s).
•/ (left/right) – select the input fi elds
•/ (up/down) – changes the setting in the active input fi eld.
The other options in this menu are:
•OK - saves your inputs in the timer (see point 3).
• - closes the menu and discards the inputs.
• | - opens the timer recording list. |
Notes:
•The timer icon lights up in the unit‘s display window when the recorder is in standby mode and at least one timer recording has been programmed.
•For
•To stop a timer recording that is underway, press
the button.
•The recording‘s start time must be at least 3 minutes into the future!
The AT (Auto) mode establishes how much |
disc time is available and, if necessary, |
switches to the recording quality to stop |
recording the programme (see page 24 for |
the other modes). |
• Repeat: Select the repeat type that you |
require (once, daily (Monday - Friday) or |
weekly). |
• VPS/PDC: The VPS/PDC system automati- |
cally alters the recording time so that you do |
not miss the programme if the programme |
schedule has been changed. For VPS/PDC to |
work properly, you need to key in the VPS |
time (which may differ from the actual time |
of day - see the Notes below) and the date |
of the programme that you wish to record. |
3.When you press OK the DVD recorder saves the programmed recording and displays the timer recording list.
Check in the “Status“ column that the timer recording has been programmed correctly and a playable disc has been inserted.
4.Press to close the timer recording list.
5.Press to switch the unit to standby.
