The Shuttle keys allow you

to search your tapes

forward and reverse at a

variety of speeds.

Special Playback Functions

The following Special Playback Functions can be activated whenever a tape is playing. To resume normal playback, press PLAY again or press STOP to stop the tape.

Play Still - Pause the tape for a stop action picture.

Press PAUSE to enter Play Still mode. The picture will freeze on the screen. “Still” will appear on the Front Panel Display.

Frame Advance - Search a tape frame-by-frame.

While in Play Still mode, press PAUSE again to advance the picture one frame. If the deck remains in Play Still mode for 5 minutes, it will resume playing to prevent possible damage.

Double-Speed- Play tapes at twice normal speed.

While playing a tape, press PLAY again to enter Double- Speed Playback. “Play2” will appear on the Front Panel Display.

Slow Motion - Play tapes in Slow Motion.

Press SLOW or SLOW to enter Slow Motion Playback. “Slow” will appear on the Front Panel Display.

Each time you press SLOW , the playback slows down a little and each time you press SLOW , the slow motion playback speeds up a little.

Picture Search - Search a tape at high speed

Press and release FF to enter Forward Picture Search. “Cue” will appear on the Front Panel Display.

Press and release REW to enter Reverse Picture Search. “Revew” will appear on the Front Panel Display.

Jet Search - Search a tape at extra-high speed:

Press and hold

to enter Forward Jet Search. “Cue”

Skip - Skip forward 1 or 2 minutes.

Press

SKIP

once to forward picture search for 60 seconds.

Press

 

twice to forward picture search for 120

SKIP

seconds. This allows you to skip commercials while playing back tapes.

Shuttle - Search a tape at variable speeds.

Press to gradually speed up the tape. Press to gradually slow down and reverse the tape. See diagram at left.

Note: Noise bars, poor or no color during special playback functions is normal and is not a fault condition.
