Your VCR is equipped with the B.E.S.T. (Biconditional Equalized Signal Tracking) feature, which checks the condition of the tape in use during recording and playback, and compensates to provide the highest-possible recording and playback pictures. *The default setting for both recording and playback is "ON".

Preparation

	1		TURN ON THE VCR
			Press POWER. If watching channel 3 or 4, press TV/
			VIDEO to select the VIDEO mode. VIDEO is displayed
			on the front display panel.
			ACCESS MAIN MENU
	2		SCREEN
	2		Press MENU.
			ACCESS B.E.S.T. PICTURE
	3		SYSTEM
			Press CH5° to place the	MAIN MENU
			arrow next to “B.E.S.T.	PROGRAM SET
			PICTURE SYSTEM”, then	PROGRAM SET
			PICTURE SYSTEM”, then	FUNCTION SET
			press OK.	TUNER SET
				INITIAL SET
				=B.E.S.T.PICTURE SYSTEM
				R.A. EDIT
				PRESS (5,°), THEN (OK)
				PRESS (MENU) TO END

	4		SELECT MODE
			Place the arrow next to	B.E.S.T.PICTURE SYSTEM
			"ON" by pressing CH5°,	B.E.S.T.PICTURE SYSTEM
			"ON" by pressing CH5°,	RECORDING	=ON
			then press OK to move the	RECORDING	=ON
			then press OK to move the		OFF
			arrow to the Playback	PLAYBACK	=ON
			section. Set Playback to		OFF
			"ON", then press MENU as
			many times as necessary to	PRESS (5,°), THEN (OK)
			return to the normal	PRESS (MENU) TO END
			screen. (Pressing OK
			returns the arrow to the Recording section.)
