5Quick Connect Guide & TV Guide On Screensetup

This section includes instructions on using the Quick Connect Guide to assist you in configuring the following basic settings for your TV:

Choosing your preferred language (English, French, or Spanish) for on-screen menus. (See Chapter 7 for details on this feature.)

Setting up the TV Guide On Screeninteractive program guide. (See Chapter 7 for details on this feature.)

Configuring the antenna input sources. (See Chapter 6 for details on this feature.)

Automatically programming channels into the TV’s channel memory (See Chapter 6 for details on this feature.)

Choosing your preferred picture mode (See Chapter 8 for details on this feature.)

Starting the Quick Connect Guide assisted setup

The Quick Connect Guide automatically starts the first time the TV is turned on.

Note: If you have not already connected your devices and cables to your TV, turn off your TV, unplug the power cord, and connect your devices according to the applicable connection diagram in Section 2. If you turned on the TV before connecting your devices and the Quick Connect Guide assisted setup already began, you will have to manually restart the Quick Connect Guide (see below) after you connect your devices.

If this is the first time you have turned on your TV and the Quick Connect Guide is already on-screen, start at “Selecting the menu language” at right.

If you change your TV’s input source or connections, you also can manually start the Quick Connect Guide to assist you in updating your TV’s settings. To do this, start at “Manually starting the Quick Connect Guide assisted setup” below.

Note: To stop the Quick Connect Guide, press EXIT or turn off the TV.

Manually starting the Quick Connect Guide assisted setup

1.Press MENU and open the SETUP menu.

2.Highlight INSTALLATION and press ENTER. (A new set of INSTALLATION menu icons will appear on-screen, as shown in step 3.)

3.Open the QUICK CONNECT menu, highlight START, and then press ENTER.

1.Press yzx • to highlight the language you want to use for on-screen menus and messages (English, Español, or Français), and then press ENTER.
