Playable discs

Using this DVD Recorder, you can play and record on the following discs:

Recording and Playback

DVD+RW (DVD ‘plus’ Rewritable;) can be recorded on over and over.

DVD+R (DVD ‘plus’ Recordable;) can be recorded only once.

Playback only:

DVD Video (Digital Versatile

Disc)

DVD-R(DVD ‘minus’Recordable); can only be played back when the recording was made in 'video mode' and the recording was finalized.

DVD-RW(DVD ’minus’ Rewritable); can only be played back when the recording was made in 'video mode' and the recording was finalized.

Audio CD (Compact Disc

Digital Audio)

MP3-CD

Video CD

(Formats 1.0, 1.1, 2.0)

Super Video CD

CD-R(CD-Recordable) Audio/

IMPORTANT!

If the inhibit icon (XError) appears on the TV screen when a button is pressed, it means the function is not available on the current disc or at the current time.

DVD discs and players are designed with regional restrictions. Before playing a disc, make sure the disc is for the same zone as your player.

Do not push on the disc tray or put any objects other than discs on the disc tray. It may cause the disc player to malfunction.

Inserting a disc

1Press STANDBY-ON2 to turn on the DVD recorder.

2Press OPEN/CLOSE / on the front of

the DVD recorder.

The disc tray opens.

You can also hold down the STOP 9 button on the remote control to open and close the disc tray.

3Carefully place the disc into the tray with the label facing up, then press OPEN/CLOSE /.

Make sure the disc label is facing up. For double-sided discs, load the side which you want to play facing up.

4Turn on the TV power. Select the correct Video In channel at the TV.

5Playback will start automatically or a dialog will appear on the TV (see next page.)

TIPS: Some discs can not be played on this DVD recorder due to the configuration and characteristics of the disc, or due to the condition of recording and authoring software.
