Making connections

You can connect your digital camera to a computer in order to transfer files from your camera's internal memory or memory card to your computer.

Connecting the camera to a computer

To connect the camera to a computer:

1Connect the camera to the computer using the supplied USB cable.

2Turn on your camera.

The computer detects the connection and the camera’s internal memory and memory card are shown as removable drives on the computer’s file manager screen. No image is displayed on the camera’s LCD.

Note

You can also move files to your computer by removing the memory card from your camera and plugging it into an external card reader (not included).

Cause

No images have been stored to the internal memory or memory card, or image files on the memory card cannot be read by the camera.

Set your camera to Record mode to capture photos or video. Or, connect your camera to your computer using the instructions on page 17 to view files. Your camera may not be able to display images or videos taken with other cameras or where the file names have been altered.

Turn off the camera, remove the memory card, and slide the card’s write-protect switch to its unlock position.
