Taking Your First Photograph

Nikon’s COOLPIX 100 digital camera is extremely easy to operate. This section gives a brief outline of how to take a photograph after the camera is turned on. For more detailed information on camera settings, refer to the following chapter, “ Beyond the Basics.”

Step 1 - Turn the power on

Note: To increase the life of the batteries, the camera will automatically enter “sleep” mode if no operations are performed for sixteen seconds. If no operations are performed for a further two minutes, the camera will turn itself off automatically.

Step 2 - Check the number of exposures remaining

The control panel display shows the number of photographs that may be taken at the current quality setting.
