Checking the Batteries
Check the battery power level in the Status Display before you begin taking pictures. Don’t miss an important picture because the camera batteries are low or exhausted.
1Turn on the camera.
2Check the battery symbol that appears in the Status Display. If no symbol appears, your battery is fully charged.
Low
replaced or recharged.
Exhausted (blinking) — batteries are too weak to power the camera. Replace or recharge the batteries.

Automatic Powerdown Saves Batteries
The automatic powerdown feature helps extend battery life by turning off the camera when it has been inactive (no buttons pushed and no pictures taken) for the given time period. For details on the Power Save feature, see page 43.
