Movie recording

This camera can record up to 30 seconds 320x240 of digital video with sound at approximately 180KB/s. Movie recording is activated with the recording menu, see the navigating the recording menu section on page 35. The digital zoom cannot be used and the monitor cannot be turned off.

Use the up/down keys of the controller to highlight the movie option.

Press the right controller key to continue.

Place the subject in the center of the monitor and press the shut- ter-release button partway down to lock focus (1). Press the shut- ter-release button all the way down and release to begin recording.

The camera continues to record until the recording time is used or the shutter-release button is pressed again. The elapsed recording time is displayed on the monitor.

Take care not to cover the microphone while recording. During recording, focus is locked and the optical zoom is disabled. The writing speed of the memory card may prematurely end the recording of a movie clip.

The movie mode is canceled when the camera is turned off, the playback mode is used, or the auto-power-off function activates. This mode can also be canceled by selecting the movie option in the recording menu.
