Focus Indication at the Camera Lens

The depth of field, i.e. the area before and behind the focal plane that still appears clearly focused is determined by the set aperture, and can be seen in the focus indication window 2: a higher f-number means a higher depth of field. The focal plane in the example above is set at approx. 1.3 m.

The yellow aperture numbers 3 indicate the depth-of-field-area in the image. If e.g. an aperture of 8 and a focus of 1.3 has been set, the depth-of-field area 4 in the image lies between approx. 1.1m (3.6 ft) and 1.4 m (4.6 ft).
