Using the Built-In Flash

Use the built-in flash according to the guidelines below.

(Auto)*

The flash fires automatically as required by the lighting level.

(Red-eye reduction, Auto)

The red-eye reduction lamp always fires but the flash only fires as

required by the lighting level.

 

(Red-eye reduction, Flash on)

The red-eye reduction lamp and the flash always fire.

(Flash on)

The flash always fires.

(Flash off)

The flash does not fire.

 

 

* No icon appears in the display panel in Auto mode.

Press the button to switch between

flash modes.

The selected flash mode will show in the display panel. It will also appear on the LCD

monitor if it is on.

2 Shoot the image.

• The flash will fire if the indicator beside the viewfinder shines orange when the shutter button is pressed halfway.

• Shooting procedures are the same as for the Auto mode (p. 37).

Built-in Flash Settings
