SYMPTOM

POWER

No power is supplied.

The power suddenly goes off and doesn’t come back on by itself.

OTHER

POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)

The battery pack has not been attached correctly (pg. 10).

The battery pack is not charged (pg. 10).

The power supply has not been correctly connected (pg. 11).

The battery pack has completely discharged.

Remove the cassette and disconnect the power source, then after a few minutes, try turning the power back on. If it still doesn’t come on, consult your nearest JVC dealer.

Some functions are not available.

Vertical white lines appear when shooting a very bright object.

Bright, crystal-shaped spots appear in the LCD monitor and the viewfinder.

The rear of the LCD monitor is hot.

Colored bright spots appear all over the LCD monitor.

The indicators and the picture color on the LCD monitor are not clear.

The LCD monitor, the viewfinder and the lens have become dirty (ex. fingerprints).

An error number (i.e. E03) appears.

The image is out of focus.

Even though the Lens Cover is open, the Lens Cover Warning indicator blinks.

The Select Dial is set to “AUTO LOCK”.

This sometimes occurs when the contrast between the background and the object is great. It is not a defect of the camcorder.

Sunlight is directly entering the lens. This is not a defect of the camcorder.

The light used to illuminate the LCD monitor causes it to be hot. Close the LCD monitor to turn it off or set the Power Switch to OFF, and let the unit cool down.

The LCD monitor is made with high-precision technology. However, black spots or bright spots of light (red, green or blue) may appear constantly on the LCD monitor. These spots are not recorded on the tape. This is not due to any defect of the unit. (Effective dots: more than 99.99 %.)

This may occur when the surface or the edge of the LCD monitor is pressed.

Wipe them gently with soft cloth. Gently wipe the LCD monitor in a semicircle because wiping strongly spreads the stain and it won’t come out easily.

Turn the camcorder’s power off, then disconnect the power source. After a few minutes, try turning the power on again. If the error number still appears, consult your nearest JVC dealer.

The diopter needs to be adjusted (pg. 14).

The scene being shot is adversely affecting the operation of Auto Focus (pg. 36).

The Lens Cover Warning indicator may blink when the camcorder is used in dark areas, regardless of the position of the Lens Cover.

The camcorder is a microcomputer-controlled device. External noise and interference (from a TV, a radio, etc.) might prevent it from functioning properly. In such cases, first disconnect its power supply unit (battery pack, AC Power Adapter/Battery Charger, etc.) and clock battery; and then re-connect it and proceed as usual from the beginning.

This compact and lightweight camcorder is designed for amateur videographers, offering a range of features that cater to a variety of filming needs.

One of the standout features of the GR-AXM900 is its 680,000-pixel CCD sensor, which provides a clear and vibrant image quality for its time. This sensor enables users to capture video in 4:3 aspect ratio, making it suitable for traditional television viewing. This capability is ideal for users looking to create videos with improved resolution and color depth.

The GR-AXM900 boasts a powerful zoom lens, featuring a 10x optical zoom that allows users to focus on subjects from a distance without sacrificing image quality. Additionally, it offers a 700x digital zoom, enabling even greater magnification when needed, making it a versatile tool for capturing a range of scenes, from close-ups to distant landscapes.

User convenience is enhanced by the camcorder’s sophisticated autofocus system. The autofocus feature helps ensure that subjects are sharp and in focus, which is especially useful for novice filmmakers who may be learning the ins and outs of manual focusing. The camera also includes several shooting modes, allowing users to easily switch between standard recording and various special effects.

Another notable characteristic of the JVC GR-AXM900 is its capability to record audio with built-in stereo microphones, providing a richer sound quality that complements the video footage. Furthermore, the camcorder comes equipped with a color viewfinder and a flip-out LCD screen, giving users a clear view of their subject while recording.

The design of the GR-AXM900 is user-friendly, with controls positioned for easy access, allowing for smooth operation during shooting. It is powered by rechargeable batteries, contributing to its portability and ease of use for extended filming sessions.

In summary, the JVC GR-AXM900 was a significant advancement in consumer camcorder technology, providing impressive features for capturing high-quality video. Its combination of S-VHS recording, versatile zoom capabilities, autofocus, and user-friendly design make it a memorable choice for amateur filmmakers of its time.
