Press and hold down the AUD•DEQ button ; for longer than two sec- onds.
Press the or button 6 repeat- edly until “CAR PRESETS” appears on the display.
Press the MENU•OK button 7.
Press the or button 6repeatedly until the vehicle type that you want is displayed.
Press the MENU•OK button 7 and then the DIS•ESC 5.
The settings are saved.

We recommend you use a CD that you are familiar with for making changes to the set- tings.
Before adjusting the equalizer, set the sound and volume distribution settings to zero and deactivate
Listen to the CD.
What kind of impression does the sound make?
Now read the “Sound impression” col- umn in the table entitled “Help adjust- ing the equalizer”.
Set the equalizer values as described in the “Measures” column.
Making adjustments

Press the or button 6 repeat- edly until “MANUAL EQ” appears on the display.
Press the MENU•OK button 7.
Press the or button 6 repeat- edly until the equalizer that you want to configure (“USER EQ1”, “USER EQ2” or “USER EQ3”) appears on the display.
Press the MENU•OK button 7.
Press the or button 6 repeat- edly until the equalizer band that you want to configure (“LOW1”, “LOW2”, “HIGH1”, “HIGH2” or “HIGH3”) ap- pears on the display.
Press the MENU•OK button 7.
Press the or button 6 repeat- edly until the frequency that you want is displayed.
Press the MENU•OK button 7.
The top line displays the GAIN and the qual- ity factor “Q”. The gain setting flashes. You can use the quality factor to adjust the width of the filter. The higher you set the value for the quality factor the more directly the filter will be applied to the selected frequency.
To adjust the gain,
press the or button 6. To adjust the quality factor,
press the button 6.
The quality factor setting flashes.
Press the or button 6 repeat- edly until the setting that you want is displayed.
