tion is activated, the device will auto- matically search for a traffic information station.

Setting the timers

If TIM is activated, the traffic informa- tion messages provided by a tuned traf- fic information station will be recorded for 2 hours after the device is switched off. Furthermore, you can set two tim- ers that record all the traffic information messages received 30 minutes before and 90 minutes after the set time. The timer function uses the system time as its reference. For details on setting the system time, please read the chapter entitled “CLOCK - time”.

To set one of the timers,

whilst you are in radio mode, press

and hold down the TUNER button = for longer than two seconds.

The TIMPLAY menu is displayed.

Press the NEXT button 4. The TIMSET menu is displayed.

Press the softkey 5 assigned to the “TIMER1” display item for the first timer or “TIMER2” for the sec- ond timer.

The set time appears in the display, and the hours flash.

Move the joystick 8 up or down to adjust the hours.

Move the joystick 8 to the right to change the input position.

The minutes flash.

Move the joystick 8 up or down to adjust the minutes.

To save the settings,

press the TUNER button = or the joystick OK 8.

The settings are saved.

Whilst TIM standby is activat- ed, an electric antenna that is con- nected to the device will remain ex- tended.

Note:

Before you drive into a carwash, please make absolutely sure you switch off TIM. For further details, please read the section entitled “Switching off TIM” in this chapter.

Selecting a timer

Once you have set the timers, you can then select which of the two timers to activate. Generally, the timer that you adjusted last is active.

To select a timer,

whilst you are in radio mode, press

The TIM PLAY menu is displayed.

Press the NEXT button 4. The TIMSET menu is displayed.

Press the softkey 5 assigned to the “TIMER1” display item to select the first timer or “TIMER2” to select the second timer.

Press the TUNER button = or the joystick OK 8.

The settings are saved.
