as indicated by the ST indication on the display panel when tuned to an FM stereo sig- nal. If the stereo signal is too noisy for com- fortable listening, press the M/S button to switch to monaural reception; the ST indi- cation will disappear from the display. To re- turn to stereo reception mode, press the but-

This button is used to mute the volume from the system. By pressing the button, a flashing volume indication will appear on the display panel and the volume will be muted. Press- ing the MUTE button again, or activating the Volume Control 2, LOUD button 8, or Equal- izer (EQ) button 9 will return the volume level to the setting in use before the Mute function was activated.
