ROAMING AND SYSTEM OPERATION

Contact your system operator, or that of the visited system, for informa- tion on dialing and billing procedures.

To use alternate long distance services when roaming, be certain to dial the appropriate area code and local number to access the alternate car- rier in the visited area. Then use the Tone Dialing sequence described on page 26. If you selected Two-System Operation (see page 21) enter ‰,

£to verify the currently active number. This is especially important if your two home systems have different area codes, or if RM (Roam) is flashing within home service area.

To Review Current Setting:

1.Press , .

The display will show the current active system choice.

2.Repeatedly press to review the System Type modes. (Press ´ to exit without changing selections.)

3.Press Ø to activate the displayed selection.

Standard Mode

 

Your phone first seeks a home type system, then

 

a non-home type.

 

If home system is non-wireline (type A)

If home system is wireline (type B)

Invert Preference Mode

 

Your phone first seeks a non-home type system,

 

then home type. (Select this mode if in a fringe

 

area of your home system or in certain

 

roaming situations.)

 

If home system is non-wireline (type A)

SCAN BA

Fast flashing RM (Roam) indicator = call on B system

Slow flashing RM (Roam) indicator = call on home type system

Slow flashing IU (In Use) indicator = call on home system
