_ Using Voicemail

_ Receiving STi Mobile Messages

_ Using Caller ID

Now that you’ve mastered your phone’s fundamentals, it’s time to explore the messaging and calling features that enhance your STi Mobile Service.

Messaging Basics

Alerts When You Have Messages

There are several ways your STi Mobile phone alerts you to new messages: _ By displaying a message on the screen.

_ By sounding the assigned ringer type. _ By the LED blinking red.

_ By displaying at the top of your screen for voicemail messages, for text messages, or for both voice and text messages.

Message Types

There are two types of messaging features available from your STi Mobile phone’s menu. You can receive voicemail and STi Mobile Messages (also known as page/text or SMS messages) as long as your phone has enough memory to store them.

_ Voicemail automatically captures calls when you can’t answer your phone or it is turned off. The voicemail system sends a notification to your phone when you have new voice messages and an asterisk (*) is displayed in front of the Voicemail menu option. (See “Using Voicemail” on page 79.)

_ STi Mobile Messages (appear on your phone’s menu as Page under the Messages option) include numeric pages. (See “STi Mobile Messages” on page 86.)

Using Voicemail

Setting Up Your Voicemail

All unanswered calls to your STi Mobile phone are automatically transferred to voicemail, even if your phone is in use or turned off. Therefore, you will want to set up your STi Mobile voicemail and personal greeting as soon as your STi Mobile phone is activated.

To set up voicemail:

1.Press and hold 1.

2.Follow the system prompts to create your pass code, record your greeting, record your name announcement, and choose whether to activate One-Touch Message Access (a feature that lets you access messages by pressing and holding and bypasses the need for you to enter your pass code).

Note: The voicemail setup process may vary in certain Affiliate areas.
