8 TUMBLE DRY

The following step-by-step instructions are pro- vided to help you to achieve the best possible drying result.

1SORT FABRICS

For tips and advice, see Chapter 7 – Before tumble drying.

NOTE

Empty the pockets. Coins, nails and similar items can cause damage to the machine and textiles.

2TURN ON THE MAIN POWER SWITCH

3OPEN THE DOOR, PUT IN THE WASHING AND CLOSE THE DOOR

Close the door carefully, and do not slam it. See Chapter 7 for the recommended quanti- ty of washing – Before tumble drying.

SELECT A PROGRAMME

4Select the programme that you wish to use with the programme selector knob. Your choice of programme will depend

on what you wish to do with the fabrics after tumble drying. See also Chapter 7 – Before tum- ble drying.

The choice of programmes is:

Extra dry, Dry, Normal dry, Iron dry, Timed dry and Air fluff.

5SET THE TIME FOR AIR FLUFF AND TIMED DRY PROGRAMMES

For the Air fluff programme and the Ti- med dry programme, you can set the duration

by indexing forwards with the button. The selected time is shown in the display.

You can select times between 5 and 90 minu- tes.

Try different drying times for yourself. Then note the times that you find best for different fabrics.

NOTE

When using the Timed dry programme, the gar- ments may become “over-dry” if the set drying time is too long. This can cause the fabrics to shrink or crease and take on a rough feel. Synt- hetic materials can also become charged with static electricity. Try to find the suitable drying time by selecting a shorter time on the first few occasions.

6SELECT AN OPTION

By selecting an option, you can obtain a drying programme that is ideal for your

garments,

The machine will remember the settings and options that you make for each programme and will start with these (with one exception – De- layed start) the next time you select the pro- gramme concerned. Of course, you can then make a further change if you wish.

The Maytag MDE 9801 offers a variety of features designed to enhance user convenience. One of its standout capabilities is the Extra Power button, which boosts drying power on any cycle. This feature is especially useful for drying heavy fabrics like towels or comforters, ensuring they come out completely dry without needing to run multiple cycles. Additionally, the MDE 9801 includes a large capacity drum that allows users to dry substantial loads efficiently, saving time and energy.

On the other hand, the Maytag MDE 9701 shares many similar traits but comes with its own unique set of technologies. This model also features the Extra Power button, making it effective for various fabric types. The MDE 9701 is equipped with an advanced moisture sensing system that detects moisture levels in the drum, adjusting the drying time accordingly. This intelligent drying technology prevents over-drying, which can damage fabrics and decrease garment lifespan.

Both models come with Maytag’s heavy-duty construction, known for lasting durability. They are built with a commercial-grade motor and high-efficiency bearings, ensuring powerful performance even under continuous use. The wrinkle control option is another highlight, which helps minimize wrinkles in clothes, allowing you to spend less time ironing and more time enjoying your freshly dried laundry.

Furthermore, Maytag has incorporated quiet operation technology in both the MDE 9801 and MDE 9701 models, making them suitable for homes where noise can be a concern. The sound-dampening system reduces vibrations and decreases noise, allowing for a peaceful environment while the dryer is in operation.

In terms of energy efficiency, both dryers are designed to meet the ENERGY STAR certification standards, making them environmentally friendly options. This means they not only help users save money on utility bills but also contribute to reducing overall energy consumption.

In summary, both the Maytag MDE 9801 and MDE 9701 dryers are excellent choices for those in search of powerful, efficient, and user-friendly drying solutions.
