Additional information
Optional system settings
These settings are accessed by using the System Setup menu while in standby.
1Switch the system into standby.
2Press SYSTEM SETUP (SHIFT+HOME MENU).
3 Use (cursor left/right) to choose the setting then press ENTER.
The current setting is shown for each option as you cycle through the display. See below for a full list and description of each.
•LOCK OFF – Restores regular use of the front panel buttons and controls.
Clock format setting
Specifies how the clock is displayed:

Line attenuator setting
If the source connected to the analog LINE input is distorting, the attenuator will reduce the signal level.
• ATT 6DB – Reduces signal level by 6dB.
4 Use (cursor up/down) to adjust the setting then press ENTER to confirm.
5Repeat steps 2 to 4 to make other settings.
System Setup menu options in standby
Below are all the available settings in the setup menu. The first setting in each is the default.
System demo setting
Switches the automatic demo feature on or off1 (this starts when you plug in for the first time):
•DEMO ON – Switches the demo feature on.
•DEMO OFF – Switches the demo feature off.
Key lock setting
The Key Lock feature is useful when you’ve set the
•LOCK ON – Makes the front panel buttons and controls inoperative.
•ATT 10DB (EV700/1000 only) – Reduces signal level by 10dB.
•ATT OFF – No attenuation
Tape deck beat cut setting
Recording AM broadcasts on cassette tape can result in noisy recordings. If you experience this, change the beat cut mode.

Frequency step setting
If you find that you can’t tune into stations successfully, the frequency step may not be suitable for your country/region.
•AM 9K – AM 9kHz / FM50Hz
•AM 10K – AM10kHz / FM100Hz
Note
1After setting the clock, the demo mode switches off automatically. However, if you unplug the system from the wall outlet, the demo mode will revert to DEMO ON (and the clock will be reset).
